Our Mission:

Urology Associates of Mobile was founded in 1948 on the idea of providing the highest quality urologic and urologic oncologic care possible, while remembering that we do not just treat the disease state but the person as well. Seventy years later, our physicians and staff still strive to complete this same mission. While our entire team is focused on keeping up-to-date with the latest in urologic and urologic oncologic therapies, treatments, and surgeries to ensure our patients receive the highest quality care possible, we also realize that compassionate care from the registration process to the physician experience is instrumental to the patient experience. Providing optimal care coupled with a compassionate heart is key to our mission as healthcare providers. Our motto is to make the lives of our patients’ better one patient at a time.

We combine innovative technology and innovative treatments with human compassion to create the most effective patient/provider relationship possible.

Our physicians are constantly researching and learning the newest therapies and surgeries available for all types of urologic and urologic oncologic diseases. Our doctors understand that learning never stops and thus they continue to open themselves to new treatment ideas and cutting-edge procedures.

3. Provide value to our community at large.

We at Urology Associates of Mobile understand that there is more that we can offer outside the doors of our practice. That is why a number of our physicians spend their time on a number of worthy causes from providing healthcare to the less privileged in third world countries to researching and teaching new urologic and oncologic therapies that could benefit the many.

We will continue to expand our services and staff in order to meet these goals.

Summary of Job:

Manage UAMPA’s accounting operations, producing accurate financial reports, while ensuring compliance with regulations. The position will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial statement preparation, and will coordinate with an external CPA firm for tax return preparation and annual reviews.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Issue timely and complete financial statements

2. Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

3. Maintain accurate financial records using cash-basis accounting in accordance with internal policies and external compliance standards.

4. Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management review.

5. Collaborate with the outside CPA firm on income tax returns, annual financial reviews, and other compliance filings.

6. Ensure compliance with healthcare industry regulations and financial reporting standards.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

2. 7 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a healthcare or medical practice environment.

3. Strong understanding of cash-basis accounting and financial reporting best practices.

4. Experience working with external auditors or CPA firms.

5. Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.

Job Requirements:

1. Employee must be able to communicate clearly.

2. Employee must be able to keep an organized workflow and effectively manage multiple tasks at one time.

3. Employee must be able to be active and mobile for an eight hour period.
