Role Summary
URBN is seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) who will play a pivotal role in the Solution Delivery group, supporting the development and delivery of omnichannel ecommerce products. Working closely with Technology Stakeholders, Enterprise Engineering and Architecture, the BSA collaborates with various teams to optimize URBN’s enterprise services, ensuring software quality, scalability, and completeness. This role will serve as a partner to the engineering team, providing essential support to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions.
Role Responsibilities
- Support 1–2 Scrum teams as a Technical Product Owner, leading solution design, refinement, and development with Platform Services Systems Analysts, Tech Leads, and Enterprise Architects.
- Act as a liaison between URBN’s Core Services Engineering Group and operational stakeholder groups across the Technology Organization to design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable services and APIs in partnership with Architects and Engineering leads.
- Support the coordination of cross-team dependencies by understanding how the incremental deliveries of downstream systems affect the engineering team’s ability to complete work.
- Manage ongoing application health by prioritizing incoming inquiries, performing cross-system issue research and root cause analysis, and recommend solutions to resolve low to moderate complexity issues.
- Assess potential risk against delivery effort when evaluating business requirements and negotiating priorities with business and technology stakeholders.
- Use Jira to maintain and ensure the quality of the URBN product backlog in partnership with Architecture and Engineering leads.
- Apply frameworks to organize concepts, identify gaps, and clearly communicate ideas to improve issue resolution processes.
- Support system performance improvements, troubleshoot issues, and enhance reliability through thoughtful design and code quality.
Role Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in IT/technology environments, with expertise in program/project management, data/system analysis, and technical requirements definition.
- Proficiency with JIRA, Roadmap/Portfolio Planning, and communication tools like Slack.
- Well-rounded experience delivering integrated software solutions over complex system architecture and dependencies spanning multiple teams.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and proactive in problem-solving.
- Strong communicator, able to coordinate effectively across teams
- Eager to expand knowledge in ecommerce and omnichannel retail best practices and trends.
- Skilled at driving consensus within interdisciplinary teams to enable timely decision-making.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Bonus Skills & Experience
- Experience with system integration between Merchandising systems (Tradestone, Island Pacific, Blue Cherry) and knowledge of Pricing, Inventory Management, Order Management and Supply Chain systems.
- Adequate understanding of GCP (Google Cloud Platform) RESTful services, including experience with planning, integration, and delivery.
- Familiarity with innovation across AI tools for productivity optimization
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, issue recreation, log investigation, and root cause analysis to resolve complex technical issues.
