Position OverviewWe are a multi-unit retail organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting functions with a focus on cash operations, payroll accounting, and management reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role for a self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, cash-intensive retail environment and collaborating closely with operations and one other part-time accounting clerk subordinate.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee cash receipts, cash controls, and daily cash management across multiple retail locationsLead cash planning and forecasting, including short- and medium-term cash flow projectionsPerform and review bank reconciliations, accounts payable reconciliations and other financial system controlsManage payroll processing and payroll accounting, ensuring accuracy and complianceSupervise accounting staff and ensure timely, accurate completion of assigned dutiesPrepare and review management reporting, including store-level performance, cash flow, and variance analysisSupport month-end close activities related to cash, payroll, and retail operationsMaintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting proceduresPartner with operations and leadership to support business planning and decision-makingQualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory accounting role with payroll processing responsibilitiesPrior experience in retail, multi-unit, or cash-intensive environments strongly preferredStrong working knowledge of cash management, payroll accounting, and financial reportingProficiency required in Excel, Google Sheets, and QuickBooks Enterprise, Gusto PayrollCandidates will be tested to assess skill levelHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent communication skills to communicate with vendors, management, employees and tax officialsSelf-starter with the ability to work independently and proactivelyReliable transportation required to commute to Uptown OaklandWork ScheduleOn-site in Uptown Oakland, 4 days per weekCompensation & BenefitsCompensation: $85,000 $100,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.Two (2) weeks of paid vacation annuallySick leave and other benefits in accordance with California state and local regulationsEqual Employment OpportunityWe are an equal opportunity employer and consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or any other status protected by law.How to ApplyPlease submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.Schedule:6-8 hour workday at modern company offices in Oakland 94612Onsite four days a weekAll employment services for Urbana retail locations are provided by Good Living Services, Inc., an equal opportunity employer.
