Position Summary: We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Budtender to join our team. The Budtender will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting appropriate cannabis products, providing detailed product information, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and maintaining a clean and organized dispensary environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cannabis, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer service
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Educate customers on the different types of cannabis products, their effects, and proper usage.
- Check in Customers at the front desk
- Help customers select products that meet their needs and preferences.
- Address customer questions, concerns, and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
Product Knowledge:
- Stay informed about the latest cannabis products, industry trends, and state regulations.
- Provide accurate information about product potency, ingredients, and dosage.
- Continuously update knowledge on the various strains, edibles, tinctures, topicals, and other cannabis products available in the dispensary.
Sales and Transactions:
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the dispensary's point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Ensure all transactions comply with state regulations, including verifying customer identification and eligibility.
- Handle cash and electronic payments responsibly.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all state and local cannabis laws and regulations.
- Ensure the dispensary operates in compliance with New Mexico's medical and recreational cannabis regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dispensary environment.
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and conducting regular inventory audits.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other team members to create a positive work environment.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Assist with promotional events and marketing activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, cash handling, and point-of-sale (POS).
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Previous retail experience in the cannabis industry is preferred, but will train skilled candidates.
- Strong knowledge of cannabis products and their effects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, such as scanning and packaging products.
Working Conditions:
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
