Position Summary
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join our Infectious Disease Clinic. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls professionally and courteously.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
- Register new patients and update existing patient information accurately.
- Check patients in and out of appointments.
- Maintain electronic medical records and ensure data accuracy.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, insurance, and clinic policies.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Collect copays and other patient payments as required.
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties, including filing, scanning, and faxing documents.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous medical receptionist or healthcare front desk experience preferred.
- Experience verifying insurance and obtaining authorizations is a plus.
- Strong telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
