Position Summary
Urban Atlantic Development is seeking a dynamic and driven Real Estate Development Associate to support the Director of Development in managing all phases of the development lifecycle—from acquisition through construction and stabilization. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills who is passionate about urban development and community building.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Coordination
- Assist in managing development timelines, budgets, and deliverables across multiple projects
- Coordinate with internal and external teams, consultants, contractors, and public agencies
- Track project milestones and prepare weekly status reports
Financial Analysis & Modeling
- Support financial modeling for acquisitions, development pro formas, and investment analysis
- Assist in preparing investor presentations and funding packages
- Conduct market research and feasibility studies
Entitlements & Approvals
- Help prepare and submit zoning, permitting, and entitlement applications
- Liaise with municipal agencies and attend public hearings as needed
- Track regulatory compliance and approval timelines
Design & Construction Oversight
- Participate in design review meetings and coordinate feedback with architects and engineers
- Monitor construction progress and assist in resolving field issues
- Review change orders, pay applications, and construction schedules
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support community outreach efforts and stakeholder communications
- Organizing public meetings and preparing presentation materials
- Document follow-up and integrate into project planning
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain organized project files and documentation
- Prepare internal and external reports for senior leadership and partners
- Support due diligence and closing processes for acquisitions and financing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- 2 – 4 years of experience in real estate development, engineering, construction, investment, or related industry
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for urban development and community impact
Preferred Skills
- Experience with mixed-use, affordable, multifamily, and land development projects
- Familiarity with public-private partnerships and government funding programs
- Experience managing consultants and expediting entitlement processes
