What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respiratory Therapist position at UR/Noyes Health?
Duties
- Provide respiratory therapy treatments and procedures to patients in various healthcare settings
- Assess and evaluate patients' respiratory needs and develop appropriate care plans
- Administer medications and oxygen therapy as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patients' vital signs and response to therapy, making adjustments as necessary
- Perform airway management, including intubation and extubation, as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
-Perform and or assist in cardiac and vascular diagnostic testing.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and disease management
Qualifications
- Valid NYS license or certification as a Respiratory Therapist
Skills:
- Airway management
- Acute care
- Respiratory therapy
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient response to therapy
- Experience working in an ICU or critical care setting
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the cardiopulmonary system
- Ability to perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for respiratory therapy treatments
Job Types: Full-time, Per diem
Pay: $35.50 - $46.14 per hour
