- Assist clients in understanding loan options, including FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and mortgage servicing procedures
- Gather and verify financial documents using software like Quicken and other financial tools to facilitate accurate loan processing
- Conduct credit analysis and evaluate borrower qualifications through detailed underwriting procedures
- Prepare and review contracts, escrow documents, and loan agreements to ensure compliance with banking regulations
- Engage in active sales efforts by promoting loan products, negotiating terms, and building lasting client relationships
- Process loan applications from initial inquiry through approval, ensuring adherence to TILA and other federal regulations
- Collaborate with underwriters, escrow officers, and other stakeholders to streamline the loan origination process
- Maintain accurate records using accounting software and perform 10-key typing tasks efficiently for data entry
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client questions promptly and guiding them through the loan journey with clarity
Experience
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer or Loan Officer Assistant within the financial services or banking industry
- Strong background in mortgage origination, processing, underwriting, and loan servicing processes
- Familiarity with FNMA guidelines, Fair Housing regulations, TILA compliance, and escrow procedures
- Proficiency in financial software such as Quicken, accounting software, and mortgage-specific platforms
- Demonstrated ability to perform credit analysis and basic math calculations accurately
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with a proactive sales approach to promote loan products effectively
- Knowledge of contracts, banking operations, and mortgage documentation standards
- Prior experience working with mortgage software systems and handling 10-key typing tasks efficiently
