Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Front Office Associate to join our Dermatology practice. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, reps, and others while ensuring a welcoming and efficient front desk experience. Your expertise in medical administrative support, medical insurance and billing, and electronic health records (EHR) management will be essential to your success.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, establishing a positive first impression while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
- Schedule appointments accurately using our EMR system. Follow-up on electronic appointment reminders.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process payments with attention to detail and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Pull and prepare patient charts with applicable documents for their visit. Assist with refiling throughout the day.
- Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating electronic health records (EHR) management systems.
- Support medical billing processes suing your medical knowledge of insurance & coding.
- Learn and assist with all front desk duties, including check-out, and other office tasks, as needed.
- Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and ensure timely documentation review for accuracy and completeness.
- Work effectively with others while maintaining a professional environment.
Skills
- Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems
- Verify insurance eligibility and effectively assist patients with insurance-related questions.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and health insurance procedures related to dermatology
- Excellent customer service skills with phone etiquette expertise; capable of managing a busy front desk.
- Previous dermatology office experience is preferred; familiarity with medical office management is a plus.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Strong clerical skills including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and managing electronic health records efficiently.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
