POSITION INFORMATION
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
Work Location: Hybrid in-person and remote
OVERVIEW
Uptown Community Service Center is a faith-based non-profit 501(c)3 organization in the Mid-City neighborhood of San Diego. We are staffed by dedicated volunteers and provide services to over 1,000 individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, and food insecurity. Our mission is to provide resources to neighbors in need in a respectful manner honoring the dignity of all individuals regardless of their circumstances.
In collaboration with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director shapes the vision and future direction of Uptown CSC through strategic planning, fundraising, and developing partnerships with other non-profit service providers and community leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with the Board in visioning organizational structure and future directions.
- Lead fundraising and grant writing efforts.
- Assist the Board in developing annual budgets.
- Develop annual reports and marketing/publicity materials.
- Maintain and expand relationships with other nonprofits and local community leaders.
- Serve as liaison for communications with our lessor.
- providing monthly operations reports to the board of directors, supervising operations coordinator and contract custodian, and developing and maintaining relationships with other non-profits and local community leaders.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience working in non-profit administration/leadership.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
- Fundraising/development experience in the non-profit sector.
- Educational background in public administration or social services.
- Experience working with unsheltered populations.
- Ability to speak Spanish.
