About the Role:
As the Veterinary Assistant Learning and Development Specialist, you’ll help shape the growth and success of veterinary assistants—from those just entering the field to those looking to advance their skills. You’ll provide hands-on instruction, real-time coaching, and mentorship to support our team's development and ensure high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver hands-on training for new and experienced veterinary assistants, supporting growth from foundational skills to advanced levels.
- Mentor and guide assistants in clinical tasks, equipment use, and proper procedures while ensuring adherence to UVS protocols.
- Collaborate with managers, leads, and the training team to align development goals with hospital-wide initiatives.
- Develop training materials, SOPs, and educational tools for both in-person use and digital platforms like VetBloom.
- Foster a supportive learning environment that accommodates diverse learning styles and encourages growth at all levels.
What You Bring:
- Strong clinical knowledge and a passion for mentoring and leadership.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, professional demeanor.
- Preferred certifications: RECOVER Rescuer and Fear Free.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment.
Schedule:
- Sunday through Wednesday, 12:00pm to 10:30pm
- Wednesday through Saturday, 12:00pm to 10:30pm
