What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Upson Regional Medical Center?
Greets and assists all patients and/or customers who are present in the office. Put together daily patient charts. Obtains lab and referral information for physician review. Prepares patients for examination and assists physicians during patient encounters. Answers patient questions and educates regarding minor office procedures. Maintains medical records information for patient visits, other referrals, insurance pre-certification information, and billing. May work varying hours, as needed, including holidays. May be required to travel to multiple office locations. Provides friendly, courteous, and confidential assistance to every patient.
Required:
High school diploma or GED
Accredited Medical Assistant Certification course completion and Certification
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:
1 year in office practice performing related duties.
