What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Upshur County Senior Citizen's Center?
- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Experience:
· Two or more years’ experience in facility maintenance.
· Five or more years’ experience completing repairs on equipment.
· One or more years of solid technical knowledge and experience.
· Five or more years’ experience working with tools and different yard equipment.
- Responsibilities
· Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
· Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
· Install appliances and equipment
· Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc.
· Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
· Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)
· Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
· Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
· Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues
General Requirements:
- Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems
- Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building’s electricity
- Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building
- Groundskeeping if the facility contains lawns or other outdoor areas in need of maintenance
- Interpersonal skills to interact with employees or customers of the building in a pleasant manner
- Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
- Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building
· Must have a valid Driver’s License.
· Have First Aid/CPR training or be willing to obtain the certification.
· Must clear West Virginia Department of Human Services background check.

Pay: $36,500.00 - $40,000.00 per year
