Registered Nurse /Licensed Practical Nurse Purpose: Under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor, Unit Manager, or Director of Nursing (Nurse Leader), the Charge Nurse ensures the delivery of efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes and patient/family satisfaction. He/she operates within the scope of practice defined by the State Nurse Practice Act and delegates aspects of patient care to licensed and unlicensed staff consistent with their scope of practice. The Charge Nurse manages patient care and collaborates with the nursing team and other disciplines, patients and families to ensure the development of effective plans of care.
Registered Nurse /Licensed Practical Nurse Duties: Work in conjunction with the ADN/Unit Director
Use your understanding of nursing principles and basic assessment skills to develop care plans that ensure patients’ needs are met
Attend to the daily operations of the unit on a per-shift unit level
Assume leadership responsibilities
Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
Protects organization's value by keeping patient information confidential.
Geriatric Nursing Assistant Job Purpose: Helps patients by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs; providing comfort, transportation, and vital sign monitoring.
Geriatric Nursing Assistant Job Duties:
Provides patients' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.
Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
Provides adjunct care by administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths; applying restraints.
Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine; recording intake and output information.
Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
