Am Law 200 law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate with 2–5 years of experience to join its downtown Houston office.
Position Details
- Practice Area: Commercial Litigation
- Location: Houston, TX — in-office 5 days/week - the practice is collaborative and you will work with a team based in Houston
- Billable Hour Requirement: 1,950 hours/year
- Compensation: $230,000–$280,000 base, plus year-end bonus
- Employee Health Insurance: The firm pays 50% of the employee's premium
- 401k match up to 3%
- Paid parking
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of general litigation experience at a law firm (2021-2024 law grads)
- Active Texas Bar license or ability to waive in quickly
About the Opportunity
The commercial litigation team handles complex disputes for a sophisticated client base. This is not cookie-cutter litigation work — associates will tackle novel legal issues and substantive matters with direct partner access and a clear path for professional growth. Litigation involves business litigation, energy and oil & gas disputes, construction litigation, banking litigation, fiduciary litigation, and real estate litigation, in state and federal court. This is a national practice and not limited to just Texas.
The primary partner is known for mentoring and training his associates. He has a large and growing book of business.

Clear promotion path: Make partner after year 6 or 7 - short partnership track
