About the Practice Manager Role:
Practice Managers are important leaders at Upperline Health. PMs manage the largest and busiest clinics in our markets and are directly responsible for operational excellence, provider relationships, and business success in their location. This is a fast-paced role with demands from multiple stakeholders including central teams, providers, and clinic roles. The PM will work collaboratively with Regional Managers, Regional Directors/Regional Vice Presidents, Clinic Leads and providers to solve various operational issues and implement organizational initiatives. We are looking for a new PM to support our Seymour, Richmond, Jasper, and Columbus offices.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the execution of in-clinic operational initiatives, including collaboration between clinics/doctors and central leadership, regional leadership, and broader care team.
- Own clinic P&L, including responsibility for KPIs for both the fee-for-service and value-based care business including visits, charges, patient enrollment, patient engagement, admits per thousand, etc. as well as staffing, and supplies ordering.
- Build effective teams through partnership with providers and clinic staff.
- Key accountabilities include recruiting and hiring of non-provider clinical roles, performance management, employee, and doctor experience, and minimizing turnover.
- Responsible for daily coverage in clinic and working to staff the clinic appropriately.
- Responsible for clinic referral conversion, monitoring of physician schedule templates, and adherence to scheduling cadence for high-risk patients.
- Solve operational problems in the moment and respond quickly to providers, clinic staff, and other care team members.
- Lead outreach efforts in local markets, developing relationships with PCPs and other referring providers, and producing referrals for clinic.
- Maintain a strong positive culture throughout the clinic; build trust and respect within a clinic environment.
- Make timely and high-quality decisions.
- Regular data reporting to operational leadership

Required Skills & Competencies:
- Direct management experience over a clinic team.
- Healthcare management experience is preferred.
- Proven experience leading and influencing a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Demonstrable success leading initiatives, establishing, and achieving goals, motivating a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Previous experience working in an EMR - athenahealth EMR is a plus.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Day-to-day work includes desk computer work and interaction with patients, facility staff and physicians.
- The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise level.
