What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shared Living Provider position at Upper Valley Services?
Seeking a home with a live-in provider(s) in an adult, quiet setting with people who are looking to make a difference by sharing their home and life with a wonderful, young transgender male who needs support with life skills, health needs, and self-regulation techniques.
Support needs include assisting him to develop a consistent personal care routine, acquire money management skills, ensure health needs are met, build strength and stamina, and connect with the LGBTQ community. Medication monitoring and reminders are required. Transportation to appointments and willingness to learn about trauma-informed care are a must to meet health needs, interests, and continued personal growth and development.
This unique young man has an impressive breadth of knowledge in his areas of interest which include paleontology, eighties music, traditional drawing, and digital art, and issues impacting the LGBT community. He enjoys Gaming/Media (I.e., Rayman, Captain Laserhawk, Pokemon, Godzilla/Kaiju, and Dragon Ball,) visiting VINS, Six Flags and other amusement parks, participating in LGBTQ events, and karaoke. Oh, and he LOVES animals! Friendly cat/dog households a plus!
