What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shared Living Provider position at Upper Valley Services?
Seeking the right, caring individual to become a Shared Living Provider for an outgoing, fun loving 27-year-old male. Individual enjoys such daily activities as watching Disney movies, PS-4, listening to music, skiing with Vt Adaptive, participating in Special Olympics, attending Zeno Mountain Farm, swimming at Green Mountain Community Fitness, bowling with friends on Fridays, going out to eat and preparing healthy meals at home. As the Shared Living Provider, you would reside in this individual’s beautiful home located in Montpelier, just a short walk from town with the goal of teaching a variety of life skills to increase his independence as well as providing everyday guidance and friendship. Good communication skills, a sense of humor and willingness to be out in the community with this young man is a must. Positive engagement in community activities, at home, at work and of course alone time is important to his success. He has daytime staff support from Monday through Thursday. 9-4 and has strong, consistent support from his family who are his biggest advocates.
