Overview
Rare opportunity to work in the Haven’s Adult Shelter, Hixon House. This role has not been available for over five years and is only open now due to an internal staff promotion. We are seeking open-minded, strengths-based candidates who have experience working collaboratively with community partners, have strong interpersonal skills, and are invested in working with adults who are experiencing homelessness. Hixon Adult Shelter provides temporary emergency housing for up to 20 adults, 18 years and over. In this role, you will build trusting relationships and help our clients access resources to obtain and sustain permanent housing and support them in achieving their goals. This role will also help clients to navigate living in a communal setting while supporting their housing needs.

Compensation
This is a full-time, site-based, Monday to Friday position and the salary range is $52,000 to $57,000 depending on education and experience. Some evening hours may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure trauma-informed, consistent service delivery
- Carry a caseload of 15 guests and collaborate with fellow Service Coordinators and Shelter Staff
- Ensure responsible use of resources and maximize shelter bed capacity
- Build solid and collaborative relationships with partner agencies
- Assist with program design and implementation including educational offerings, house meetings, bulletin boards, and more
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and inviting shelter environment by participating in room inspections and coordinating with maintenance staff as needed
- Maintain thorough and professional documentation
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed and shelter standards are achieved

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, or related field required with a master’s degree preferred
- Experience in social services, nonprofit settings, or homeless services
- Prior case management experience and/or related internships, volunteer work, or work experience in addition to formal education.
- Relevant certifications in social work, mental health, or crisis intervention a plus
