The Upper Dauphin Human Services Center, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c),3 organization established to provide Upper Dauphin County residents assistance with food insecurity, rent, utility payments assistance (water, sewer, oil, gas, electric), other emergency services as needed, and free clothing.
Summary Description:
The Administrative Assistant will greet clients each day either by phone or in person. A high degree of empathy, understanding and respect for individuals in need is essential. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance.
Responsibilities:
Confidentiality of client information must be maintained at all times both at work and during personal time.
· Answer incoming calls
· Greet clients, board members, volunteers, and visitors
· Conduct client intake process and complete intake
· Filing paperwork
· Keying data into computer programs
· Assist in preparing monthly and annual reports as requested by Administrator.
· Assist in preparing monthly Board of Directors’ agenda and supporting activity report as requested by the Administrator.
· Attend and support fundraising events.
· Sort and stock food donations into food bank area.
· Pull food donations for clients and help to car if needed
· Sort and organize clothing donations into the clothing bank area.
· Assist clients in the clothing bank.
· Conduct in the community and on social media must be professional, this position holds a high level of public awareness.
· Dress code is business casual
· Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with staff members, board of directors and community members.
Physical Responsibilities:
· Lift up to 30lbs
· Bending, pushing, twisting
· Standing for periods of time
· Sitting at a desk for periods of time
· Climbing stairs
Candidate Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Basic computer skills required – Excel, Word, Email
· Office setting experience preferred – answering phones, greeting visitors and clients
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Time management skills
· Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
· Experience working with highly confidential information.
· Flexibility to work outside of normal hours for fundraising events or fill in other office hours as necessary.
· Reliable transportation to meet assigned work schedule.
· Experience working in a human services field is a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $11.00 - $11.50 per hour
