Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant for full-time employment. The Administrative Assistant will support ourAffordable Housing department and Residents.
The Administrative Assistant is a key member of the small Affordable Housing team. The Administrative Assistant plans and coordinates social events and activities for older adult Residents who live in Affordable Housing; conducts orientation sessions for new Residents; independently performs a variety of administrative duties to help ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Affordable Housing department; and provides general assistance and problem resolution as needed by Residents.
The Administrative Assistant will efficiently and effectively plan, communicate, and oversee events and activities for Residents; provide coordination and administrative support for the application, verification, move-in, and orientation processes for new Residents; prepare communications; complete data entry; track and maintain data and files; monitor budgets and expenditures; respond to inquiries and requests in a timely and helpful manner.
The successful applicant will have at least 2 years of related experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role; experience planning and overseeing events and programs; be comfortable interacting with older adult Residents and conducting meetings and activities for Residents; be able to effectively and efficiently use computer software, databases, and apps.; interact with colleagues and Residents in a friendly and professional manner.

Work Hours
- Full-time, benefits-eligible: 40 hours per week, typically 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or similar hours, Monday through Friday, on-site
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required
Requirements
Core Requirements:
- a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- basic computer skills: the ability to access and navigate web sites, and use software, apps, and databases independently
- the ability to complete online training independently
- dependability: ability and willingness to meet attendance standards
- attention to safety: ability and willingness to consistently work in a safe and alert manner, and to report to work fit for duty; commitment to wearing protective equipment as required for the position and adhering to all health and safety standards
- commitment to treating each Resident, Team Member, and member of the Brethren Village community with respect
Additional Requirements for This Position:
- at least 2 years of prior professional experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role
- volunteer or work experience planning and coordinating events and recreational or social programs
- prior experience conducting meetings or presentations; willingness and comfort leading meetings and activities for Residents
- strong computer skills; the demonstrated ability to effectively use computerized databases, Excel spreadsheets, websites, and other software and apps.
- high attention to detail and accuracy with work; the ability to accurately enter data on records, in files, and in databases
- proven ability to effectively organize and manage own work, and complete multiple tasks / projects in a timely manner
- commitment to handling confidential and personal information with discretion and care, and in compliance with Brethren Village policies and state and federal regulations
- effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, effective customer service skills
