This is a Monday–Friday position with no call, no weekends, and no holidays.
About the Role
As a Professional Staff Nurse in our Surgery Center, you will provide expert nursing care to patients throughout their surgical journey — from pre-operative preparation to post-anesthesia recovery.
You’ll practice with autonomy, accountability, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration while creating a safe, compassionate, and efficient patient experience.
Schedule Details
Monday–Friday
No weekends
No holidays
No call
Staggered shifts based on assignment:
PreOp start time: 5:30 AM
PACU start times: 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, or 9:00 AM
PACU nurses remain later to recover patients
This structure supports team collaboration while maintaining excellent patient flow and recovery care.
What You’ll Do
Deliver Exceptional Surgical Care
Prepare patients for surgery, ensuring safety, readiness, and education
Provide skilled monitoring and recovery care in PACU
Apply the nursing process within a Relationship-Based Care model
Develop individualized, holistic care plans in partnership with patients and families
Demonstrate strong clinical judgment in assessing clinical, safety, psychological, and discharge needs
Ensure thorough documentation that promotes seamless communication
Lead & Collaborate
Serve as a highly engaged partner on the interdisciplinary surgical team
Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and colleagues
Support students, new nurses, and peers — serving as a preceptor when applicable
Contribute to shared governance and unit-based goals
Drive Quality & Professional Growth
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Incorporate evidence-based practice into clinical decision-making
Take accountability for ongoing professional development
Adapt confidently in a dynamic procedural environment
