UPMC Western Maryland Endocrinology is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dedicated outpatient team. In this role, you will provide professional nursing care under the supervision of patient care providers, including administering medications, performing IV therapy, drawing blood, and assisting with examinations and procedures. This full-time position will work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30am and 4:30pm. No holidays, evenings or weekends are required. Eligible candidates may qualify for a sign-on bonus up to $7,500.00.
Responsibilities:
- Draw blood.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
