UPMC Somerset is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our Telemedicine Center, with floating responsibilities across Somerset Pulmonary Medicine and Somerset Cardiology. This outpatient role offers a consistent weekday schedule and the opportunity to work across multiple specialties in a dynamic and patient-focused environment.
Sign-On Bonus Details:
- $5,000 for LPN graduates or those with less than one year of experience (with a 2-year work commitment)
- $7,500 for experienced LPNs with more than one year of experience (with a 2-year work commitment)
Purpose:
To provide professional nursing care to office patients under the supervision of patient care providers, supporting telemedicine and specialty services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw blood and collect specimens.
- Administer medications via oral, subcutaneous (SQ), intramuscular (IM), and IV drip routes.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
- Assess patients’ general condition, including vital signs and weight.
- Perform IV therapy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Document all patient interactions, interventions, and medications in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and sensitive information.
- Promote wellness through patient education and communication of physician instructions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
