Spend 10 weeks working inside one of our hospital-based clinical labs in Northcentral PA — learning from experienced Medical Laboratory Scientists, getting exposure to real testing environments, and building the foundation for a future career with UPMC.
About the Lab Internship Program
UPMC’s 10-week Lab Internship Program gives science students the opportunity to put what they’ve learned in the classroom into practice. This is a full-time, paid, hands-on experience designed for students who are serious about exploring lab careers. During the internship, you will:
- Work side-by-side with experienced clinical laboratory professionals
- Gain exposure to high-volume, high-acuity lab environments
- Learn how lab teams support real-time patient care
- Build confidence performing hands-on, detail-oriented lab tasks
- Grow your resume while exploring career pathways within UPMC
- Network with lab leadership and learn about future lab career opportunities
