UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor is excited to welcome a passionate and driven Crisis Technician I to our Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) team!
Safe Harbor's Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) is an 8-bed facility designed to provide an alternative to inpatient behavioral health care. Our multidisciplinary team—comprising registered nurses, CRNPs/PAs, master’s level therapists, technicians, and a discharge specialist—works collaboratively to offer comprehensive services such as medication management, therapeutic support (both group and individual), and essential referrals for ongoing care.
As our ideal candidate, you will possess a high school diploma and bring a strong desire to learn. While prior experience in behavioral health or crisis- related settings is a plus, it is not required. We will provide comprehensive training upon hire to ensure your success in this role!

Key Information:
- Schedule: M-F, Schedule dependent on unit needs

Responsibilities:
- Assisting with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living):
- Help with task like mobility and medication management.
- Participating in Multidisciplinary Activities:
- Attend staff meetings and collaborate with other professionals within the business unit.
- Work with crisis care staff, program staff, and physicians to create treatment plans.
- Use a client-centered, strength-based approach for stability.
- Act as a member of the recovery team, providing direct care to patients and families by following CSSP principals, recovery and rehabilitation models of care
- Documentation and Safety:
- Meeting accurate documentation and records.
- Ensure safety in the therapeutic environment.
