Receptionist for UPMC Washington's Orthopedics Office

Responsibilities:
Focus on customer service and continually strive to perform the duties of their job in a manner that will result in optimal patient satisfaction
Exhibit proven ability to facilitate change
Receive and greet visitors and interacts with courier daily
Identify, develop and participate in process improvement opportunities within the home health agency that will enhance the quality of service we provide
Attend compliance training and adhere to the organization's standards of conduct, policies, and procedures.
Process outgoing mail and separate mail to appropriate locations
Answer, screen and direct calls to appropriate staff or takes message
Type and proof correspondence, minutes and reports as directed
Relay information from patients, hospitals, physicians, families, and visitors by phone or voicemail.
Perform duties and job responsibilities in a fashion which coincides with the service management philosophy of UPMC towards patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians and other departments within the organization.
Preferred Qualifications: Medical terminology & prior healthcare office receptionist experience.
Schedule/Travel: Monday-Friday, four 8-hour shifts with one 4-hour shift. 8-hour shifts include: 7AM-3:30PM, 7:30AM-4PM, 8AM-4:30PM. During the months of August-October the office will have a temporary clinic on Saturdays with a 4-hour shift from 8AM-12PM (during this time the 4-hour shift each week will be either M-F OR on Saturday. Travel may be required from the Washington office to Waynesburg or Cecil.
Completion of High school diploma or GED.
Able to use computer software applications such as word processing and use of basic office equipment.
Able to provide information in a clear and concise manner.
Prefer Business course background including typing, filing, business math and business English.
Experience with a telephone system.
