Role & Department: Medical Secretary in the Nursing & Rehab Center
Hours & Shift: Part-time to Full-time 0.5 to 1.0 FTE (20 to 40 hours per week) Day Shift Position

Role Responsibilities:
- Meet/greet/communicate with residents/family members/visitors/staff
- Answer incoming calls
- Complete Medicare/Insurance eligibility checks for new admissions
- Arrange appointments and transportation of residents
- Keep electronic medical records up to date with census changes- admissions, discharges, etc.
- Order needed medical equipment/supplies
- Manage physician visits
- Monitor resident charges
- Manage resident personal funds
- Maintain accurate billing
- Back up health unit coordinator as needed
- Other office duties as assigned
- Prior secretarial experiences are preferred, but not required
- Prior experience in a long-term care setting is very beneficial, but not required
- Knowledge of Medicare/Advantage Plans is beneficial, but not required
- Prior experience using PointClickCare (electronic medical record) is beneficial, but not required
