Position Title: Health Unit Coordinator / Certified Nursing Assistant
Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville Hospital Campus
Role & Department: Health Unit Coordinator / Certified Nursing Assistant in the Nursing & Rehab Center (NRC)
Hours & Shift: Part-time to Full-time (0.5 FTE - 1.0 FTE) 20 to 40 hours per week, Day Shift Position
Role Responsibilities: The Health Unit Coordinator is accountable for supportive functions in the Nursing & Rehab Center department along with resident needs. These supportive functions include:
- Creating and maintaining the scheduling and filling of open shifts
- Assisting with staffing issues
- Ordering supplies
- Scanning documents into the electronic medical record
- Supporting the management personnel
- Working with the NHA and DON to provide support to the nursing unit
- Working closely with the medical secretary and perform tasks as assigned
- Back up for medical secretary as needed, which includes: greet visitors/residents, answering incoming calls, insurance checks, keep electronic medical record up to date with admissions/discharges, arrange appointments, etc.
- Other office duties as assigned
- Assisting on the floor as a CNA when needed to fill open shifts
Qualifications:
- Requires a Certified Nursing Assistant certification and to be listed as active in the State of Wisconsin
- Must be flexible to work all shifts if needed
- Prior experience working in a nursing home or similar environment is preferred
- Current BLS certification or obtain within 3 months of hire
- Must have excellent office, customer service, and computer skills
- Prior experience using PointClickCare (electronic medical record) is beneficial but not required
