JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining hotel infrastructure and equipment in safe condition and good working order. Maintenance Technicians must also be available to respond to guest-related questions and concerns in a timely, efficient and positive manner.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Maintenance technicians report directly to the General Manager. Maintenance works with team members at the Front Desk and in Housekeeping, Maintenance, Laundry and the Corporate Office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Fulfill maintenance work orders in a timely manner
· Carpentry repair of structures such as partitions, walls, doors, fences
· General repairs on basic equipment, furniture, screen doors, shower caulking
· Preventative maintenance programs – quarterly changing of batteries, bulbs, preventative plumbing cleaning and guest room PM Program
· Minor electrical repair work, such as replacing outlets and plugs. Inspect systems for unsafe conditions.
· Plumbing repair of leaks; replace washers and other minor parts; clear minor clogs
· Prepare various surfaces for paint; touch up paint, full wall painting, etc.
· Maintain maintenance records; may use a computer in the course of these duties
· Communicate with other departments regarding guest room status
· Complete daily shift checklists
· Assist in placement and setup of new furnishings such as televisions, mattresses, etc
· Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings
· Willingness to respond to after hours call and emergency maintenance calls from the hotel
· Perform other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
· Valid California Driver’s License
· Must pass a criminal background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Work requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling
· Work requires the employee to be able to sit in both an office setting and vehicles
· Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 100 pounds
· Up to 75% of work is performed outdoors in all season temperatures
WORK HOURS AND WAGE
· Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
· Ability to be on-call (after hours)
· Full-time, Hourly position, Non-Exempt
· Starts at $20.00 per hour
