Clinical Supervisor – Therapeutic Foster Care (TFCO)
Position Summary
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the clinical integrity, supervision, and day-to-day operations of the Therapeutic Foster Care (TFCO) program. This role provides clinical leadership to staff, ensures high-quality mental health services for children and families, and maintains fidelity to the model. The Clinical Supervisor plays a critical role in treatment planning, crisis intervention, staff supervision, and program outcomes.
Essential ResponsibilitiesClinical & Program Oversight:
- Provide clinical supervision to program staff.
- Review, organize, and maintain all treatment records and reports related to services provided to children.
- Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with children, therapeutic foster families, and biological families.
- Assess the need for routine and emergency mental health services and monitor service delivery.
- Make daily clinical decisions regarding treatment needs for children and families throughout their involvement in the TFCO model.
- Assess and make decisions regarding placements and transitions back into the community.
Crisis Intervention:
- Provide and/or coordinate emergency mental health assessments for clients in crisis as needed.
- Provide on-call, after-hours crisis intervention when required.
- Maintain composure and sound clinical judgment during high-stress and emergency situations.
Leadership & Staff Management
- Manage, supervise, and support program staff.
- Ensure adherence to clinical standards, program fidelity, and best practices.
- Monitor and report program outcomes, effectiveness, and fidelity to the TFCO model.
Reporting & Compliance
- Assume responsibility for all reports required by the agency and funding sources.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, licensing requirements, and agency policies.
Additional Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned or required to support program operations.
Travel
- Travel is required.
- Mileage reimbursement provided when using a personal vehicle at the IRS standard rate ($0.64 per mile).

Required QualificationsEducation & Licensure
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Professional Counseling (Required)
- Licensed by the State of Michigan as one of the following:
- LMSW
- LLP
- LPC (Required)
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents.
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exemplary clinical skills, including:
- Detailed knowledge of the DSM
- Ability to assess and intervene within complex family and community systems
- Ability to remain calm and effective in crisis situations
- Nonjudgmental, culturally competent, and trauma-informed approach
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

- Valid driver's license with a favorable driving record.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
