Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. We work Monday through Thursday 7-3:30 pm (summer hours) and 8-4:30 pm (winter hours). The ideal candidate will support our dental team in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the clinic. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to perform various tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical records and manage patient information systems.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions and provide coronal polishing.
- Perform basic administrative duties, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Support prosthodontics procedures by preparing materials and assisting during treatments.
- Ensure the dental office is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
- Familiarity with medical coding, dental terminology, and medical imaging is advantageous.
- Knowledge of infection control practices is essential for maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members are crucial for success in this role.
