We are seeking an Internal Communication Specialist to lead and manage our internal communication supporting the growth of our global organization and ensuring that UNS remains a strong interconnected community. With over 450 employees across eight global offices—from Amsterdam to Austin, and Hong Kong to Dubai—UNS is a global design & consulting firm. We are a collective of thinkers, problem solvers, and creative minds working across scales from urban design to architecture, interior, product and experience design. Our projects span cities and airports, bridges and brands. We design solutions addressing environmental and societal challenges. Position Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for initiating and managing internal communication at UNS globally. This involves supporting our leadership with coherent and consistent communication about strategic initiatives and milestones, as well as engaging and informing colleagues to keep everyone committed, connected and aligned with UNS’s cultural values across our global offices. You'll play a key role in change management and the rollout of internal projects for our internal Studio’s and support teams.
Team
You will be part of the Strategic Development team, a global team based in Amsterdam, with strong ties to our international offices. The team of 21 professionals is responsible for brand positioning, communication, business development, content creation, media, and marketing. You will report to the Global Director of Strategic Development.
Main Responsibilities
Lead and execute UNS's internal communication strategy.
Initiate, build, and support communication around strategic initiatives and milestones.
Support leaders with effective communication strategies and constructive conversations.
Coordinate communication across departments and international entities to ensure timely and accurate execution of strategic initiatives.
Manage the Internal Communication Framework to ensure consistent and coherent communication, balancing information with overload.
Develop, implement, and oversee communication plans for the roll out of internal initiatives or global expansion.
Create internal communication tools and content to provide clarity and foster desired behaviors.
Monitor employee engagement, identify successful strategies, and make necessary adjustments.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communication.
Over 5 years of experience in internal communications, ideally within a fast-growing international company.
Proven experience as a creative communicator in an international, multi-cultural environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build strong relationships across departments.
Enthusiastic, self-starting professional skilled in translating complex subjects into clear, engaging content.
Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
Strong understanding of channels and online tools.
Experience with change communication.
Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
