We are seeking a detail-oriented student assistant to support data entry and organization of biological specimen records associated with global research initiatives funded by NIH, the Gates Foundation, and PAHO. This role involves working with specimens collected from around the world, ensuring accurate digital documentation and careful physical handling. Specimens processed in this role will ultimately be curated within the Museum of Southwestern Biology. The student will be working in the parasite laboratory in CETI. Key Responsibilities Accurately enter specimen data into spreadsheets (Excel and/or Google Sheets) Review and verify data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy Organize and maintain digital records in a structured format Assist with labeling and cataloging specimen vials Handle physical specimens carefully and in accordance with established protocols Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace Communicate any discrepancies or issues with data or specimens to supervisors
