The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented administrative professional to work closely with the Chair, Department Administrator and staff to assist with the day-to-day academic, administrative, and operational activities of the department.
The ideal candidate should be reliable, flexible, and organized with a demonstrated ability to complete required tasks in a timely manner. Excellent administrative and communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. The position requires comprehensive administrative, organizational and operational skills, and the ability to work as a member of a team.
Duties and responsibilities for this full-time staff position will include:
- Responsible for course scheduling each semester
- Assist the Accountant with payments to vendors, reimbursements, honoraria, purchase orders, requisitions, and hold a UNM PCard
- Updating department website and electronic bulletin board
- Assist with managing departmental resources, equipment, and supplies
- Assist with travel arrangements for faculty, guest speakers and graduate students
- Support departmental events (e.g. UNM-PNM Math contest, conferences and other catered events)
- Provide general administrative and operational support for departmental programs, faculty, and staff
