The Accounts Receivables Clerk plays a vital role within the finance department. They are responsible for tracking and collecting payments from customers to maximize cash flow. This position runs reports, reconciles, and maintains accurate customer records. This role requires good communication, organization, and professionalism in order to deliver the results, service, and experience we pride ourselves on.
Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances in a timely manner
- Work to reduce aging balances and meet collection targets
- Contact customers regarding past due invoices and resolve payment delays
- Process invoices through customer portals and ensure accurate submission
- Provide customers with backup documentation, invoices, and account details as needed
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, unapplied payments, and credit issues
- Maintain accurate customer records and notes within the accounting system
- Respond to customer questions professionally and provide excellent customer service
- Build positive working relationships with customers and internal teams
- Partner with Sales, Customer Service, and other departments to resolve account issues quickly
- Share team workload and support department priorities as needed
- Prepare weekly account status updates for management review
- Assist with additional accounting and collection duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required; bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred
- Experience with Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Data Entry with high volume
- Computer skills with Microsoft E-mail, Outlook, Excel and Word
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.6 is preferred
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, energetic, dependable, and hard-working individual with ability to work well in a team as well as an individual contributor
