We operate with a small, core team handling high daily order volumes. We are focused on maintaining excellent customer service and maximizing efficiency for our customers.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced, proactive, and reliable Warehouse Worker to assist with shipping, receiving, cleaning and organizing the warehouse. This is a critical, hands-on role requiring strong operational knowledge and attention to detail. You will be instrumental in improving our current systems and ensuring accurate order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Daily Operational Ownership: Independently open and close the warehouse and ensure all daily routines are executed efficiently.
- Order Fulfillment & Shipping: Oversee the entire outbound process, including printing final invoices, ensuring accurate order picking, and loading trucks (two to three 26' routes) according to sequence for timely delivery.
- Inventory & System Management: Directly manage inventory control, including shipping and receiving procedures.
- Process Improvement: Drive initiatives to clean, organize, and create a logical flow within the warehouse. Implement and document clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for receiving, put-away, and order picking.
- Purchasing Support: Monitor stock levels and proactively report inventory status, providing timely notification when items are running low to assist the purchasing process.
- Compliance: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards.
Experience & Qualifications
- Operational Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment is mandatory.
- System Proficiency: Experience with inventory management and/or a basic Warehouse Management System (WMS) is highly desired. Experience creating new operational systems/SOPs is a significant plus.
- QuickBooks: Familiarity and experience with QuickBooks Enterprise for invoicing functions is a preferred qualification.
- Technical Skills: Comfortable using computer systems, barcode scanners, and wireless handheld devices to manage workflow (we are transitioning to a paperless system).
- Work Ethic: Must be proactive, responsible, reliable, trustworthy, and possess high integrity. Ability to think quickly on your feet and solve problems without constant oversight is essential.
- Soft Skills: Strong, clear communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability to respectfully work on a small team. Must be patient and detail-oriented.
- Logistics: Experience with proper truck loading/unloading and understanding of route-based sequencing (LIFO loading).
- Physical Requirements & Schedule: Must be able to stand for most of the day, lift heavy boxes, and operate electric pallet jacks and forklifts. Must be local to the Whitman, MA area with reliable transportation. Hours of operation are 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Paid time and half for overtime.

Base Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
