Responsibilities:
- Material Handling: Safely load, unload, and move heavy flooring materials such as tiles, carpets, hardwood, and laminate within the warehouse using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Inventory Management: Organize and maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring that products are properly labeled, shelved, and easily accessible for quick retrieval.
- Order Fulfillment: Prepare and package customer orders with precision and care, ensuring accurate product selection and proper packaging to prevent damage during transit.
- Delivery: Assist in the delivery of flooring products to job sites using company vehicles, adhering to safe driving practices and ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and cleanliness, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of company vehicles.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards to maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing products for any defects or damages, reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Communication: Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure accurate fulfillment of orders and timely communication with customers regarding delivery schedules.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations, both in the warehouse and during deliveries, to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous warehouse experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Familiarity with basic computer operations and inventory management software is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of flooring materials and products is a bonus.
Work Environment: This role primarily involves work within a warehouse environment, with occasional outdoor work during product deliveries. The position requires physical stamina to handle heavy materials and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
