POSITION DESCRIPTION

Part-Time 2 days per week

Position Title: Pet Waste Technician
Position Reports To: Operations Manager, Local Owner

General Purpose of Position:
Removes and discards pet waste for assigned route

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include some or all of the following depending upon the assigned route and/or respective client-negotiated services:

• Patrols and removes pet waste from common areas; removes bagged waste unless otherwise specified
• Services pet waste stations

• Cleans the area around the station
• Replaces litter bags and garbage bags

• Services trash stations
• Picks up trash from common areas
• Equipment installation
• Disinfects tools completely after cleaning each yard
• Leaves door hanger at client site following each visit. Includes hand written notes to client re anything unusual and/or thanks
• Accurately completes documentation each day and submits to operations office
• Responds to customer complaints
• Keeps truck clean and neat
• Follows DoodyCalls policies and procedures including those for supplies/equipment use and safety procedures
• Completes other tasks and assignments as required

• Required Qualifications:

• Valid Drivers License, must pass Background and DMV check

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED equivalency required

• No prior experience required; required to complete DoodyCalls training

Abilities:

• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to determine solutions for customers
• Demonstrated initiative; ability to think on feet
• Good customer service skills
• A personable and professional manner is required for both face-to-face and telephone contact
• Ability to keep required documents and information confidential

Work Environment:

• Environmental conditions: frequent exposure to pet waste and dogs
• Work is completed entirely outdoors
• Noise level is average

Physical Demands:

• The incumbent is regularly required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, push, pull, lift, reach, grasp, talk and hear

• Requires daily operation of tools and equipment to carry out essential functions of the job. This includes dustpan; long handled shovel; rake; spade; trash can and dollie; bleach mixture; GPS unit

• Type of work and definition: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Vision requirements: Close and distance vision’ ability to focus

Other Requirements: (Work schedule; travel; on call, etc.)

• Utilizes DoodyCalls vehicle for assigned route/work assignments
• Position requires incumbent to wear DoodyCalls Uniform during working hours
• Valid drivers license

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
