Job Summary: The Faculty Physician provides quality medical care to patients in a clinical setting. The Faculty Physician also assists management in developing policies and procedures relating to patient needs. Job Description: The Department of Dermatology at Wayne Health is seeking BE/BC applications for full-time dermatologists for clinic locations in the metro Detroit area. Dermatologists with interests in clinical care, especially in skin of color, dermatologic surgery, or pediatric dermatology. A competitive salary with a bonus and full benefits is offered. Wayne Health Dermatology currently consists of outpatient facilities in Troy, Monroe, Dearborn, and the Detroit area. We provide inpatient services to cover the hospitals of the Detroit Medical Center. Our program averages 24,000 outpatient visits, 900 inpatient consultations, and 5000 biopsy specimens annually. A major component of the Department’s academic mission is teaching dermatology residents, non-dermatology residents, and medical students. A clinical rotation for 3rd and 4th-year medical students and non-dermatology residents are also offered. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide quality treatment to all patients in a professional manner. Participate in the teaching/training program(s) Communicate with administrators, and Physicians to facilitate practice operations Participate in team effort to guarantee efficient services to patients Conforms to the ethical code of conduct of his/her professional organization, to the Wayne Health Corporate Compliance Program and all standards of the Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, and to clinic policies and procedures Maintains a current professional license, professional liability insurance at limits required by Wayne Health Credentialing as applicable Attend meetings and training as requested including participation in mandatory annual Wayne Health training in such areas as: recipient rights, confidentiality, corporate compliance, prevention of violence and management of unsafe behaviors, and cultural competence Participates in professional development activities and keeps current with healthcare trends and practices Obeys confidentiality as required by all federal, state, regulatory and Wayne Health policies Perform related duties as assigned Education, Licensure/Certification, and Training: Licensed M.D. or D.O. Board eligible or certified in Dermatology. Skills and Abilities: High level of interpersonal skills, written and verbal, necessary to effectively communicate, establish, and maintain productive working relationships with people inside and outside the Department and/or Practice Excellent analytical ability necessary to independently identify and resolve extremely complex and unusual problems or discrepancies Clinical knowledge to meet the medical requirements relating to various procedures Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patients, personnel and/or financial data Excellent organizational skills to work independently, prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and manage time Patient management skills necessary to provide quality care Safety Requirements: Compliance with Department Health and Safety policies and procedures Working Conditions/Schedule: Work week, hours and days to be determined by the business need of the department. Wayne Health requires all employees [temporary employees and contractors] who will interact with the public and/or co-workers, regardless of clinical responsibility or patient contact, to have started their primary vaccination series against COVID-19 or received a sincerely held religious belief or medical exemption. All newly hired employees are required to have received their first vaccination dose prior to their start date of employment and completed primary series as outlined in FDA’s prescribing instruction for vaccine administration. New hires must also receive their booster within 30 days after the date that they are eligible to receive it, per CDC guidelines. Exemptions or accommodations to the Wayne Health vaccine requirement may be approved under certain limited circumstances. Anyone with an approved exemption must have weekly PCR COVID-19 testing on their own time and submit the results every Monday, before arriving at work.
