Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director the Assistant Director of Admissions Communications & Marketing is responsible for overseeing, managing, and implementing all communication strategies and tactics including the Admissions website, social media channels, collateral materials, email communications, and phone communications.
The position will develop and manage a comprehensive communication plan to support student recruitment, admission, and enrollment. All communications will target a wide variety of audiences with a primary focus on segmented student populations including students of various ages, education levels, and academic interests, as well as parents of prospective students. The development of these communications may include but is not limited to planning, writing, editing, and implementing communications for all previously mentioned varieties of media.
This position will develop and execute annual integrated communication plans as well as initiative and campaign-level plans and strategies and will assess regularly, track trends, and benchmark against peer and aspirant institutions, as well as industry best practices.
The Assistant Director is also a key member of the integrated team responsible for paid media (digital and traditional) targeting prospective students.
Responsibilities

Plans and strategizes the research, development, management, and execution of internal and external communications within the Office of Admissions, including but not limited to website, social media channels, collateral materials, email communications, and phone communications.

Develops, executes and evaluates annual integrated communication plans as well as initiative and campaign-level plans and strategies and assesses regularly, tracks trends and benchmarks against peer and aspirant institutions, as well as industry best practices. Determine and monitor ROI of lead generation and assess the overall communication plan performance and make adjustments quarterly. Identifies, develops, and provides reports to divisional leadership on the impact of communication campaigns.

Manages all Admissions creative, web and marketing projects, including gathering content, managing timelines and submitting forms for projects through University Communications and Marketing. Manages an annual calendar of creative/web projects and ensures deadlines are met. Serves as a key member of the integrated team responsible for paid media (digital and traditional) targeting prospective students

Utilizes CRM to build and manage communication campaign implementation, monitoring, and optimization

Leads and supervises the Social Media Graduate Assistant and provides relevant milestones, guidelines, and feedback for continuous improvement.

Supervises and provides support in the selection, training, and supervision of student assistants for the Admissions Student Leader Communications Team. Strategies to ensure the generation of appropriate tasks and plans for task completion by the student team.

Collaborates with campus partners to effectively reach targeted groups of prospective students (international/transfer/graduate, etc.) and incorporates them into the overall plan.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree required.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience working with diverse groups of people, and the ability to present a positive image for the University are also required. Employee must be able to work independently while functioning as a team member. Applicants must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment. Applicant must also be able to work collaboratively with other Admissions Office staff members as needed.
Required Experience

Master's Degree in relevant and/or related field preferred. Prior experience preforming similar job duties in post-secondary education environment is highly preferred. Experience with Banner, Ellucian CRM Rrecuit, and/or other EMS/CRM software is also preferred. Literacy in HTML, CSS, XML, and PHP and prior experience working with large scale communication providers is preferred. Experience managing student employees in an education setting is also preferred.

Proposed Salary
$51,800 annually

KNOWLEDGE
Contribute to budget planning and expense tracking related to communication activities and processes as well provide forecasting reports to senior leadership when necessary. Manages Admissions' marketing and communications budget.
Position makes decisions regarding outbound communications to the public. Decisions made may impact enrollment, student retention, and results of communication efforts. Editorial decisions regarding communications may result in misinformation being spread to the public. The position also assists in making budgetary decisions regarding paid media and advertisements. Errors in these decisions may impact budget management.
SKILLS
The Assistant Director of Admissions Communications and Marketing supervises the Social Media Coordinator Graduate Assistant and the Student Leader Communications Team. The Assistant Director also provides assignments and guidance to a freelance copywriter.
