Job Summary
Design and conduct experimental research and investigations to explore and support scientific discovery and/or development. Record, interpret, and analyze study data/ Develop research documentation, such as protocols, reports, reviews. Publications, manuscripts, and/or summaries. Disseminate research findings to internal and external audiences. Ensure the quality standards and scientific and technical developments. Contribute innovative solutions that advance the university’s strategy and extend knowledge in a given field. This position is currently funded only through March 31, 2028.
Responsibilities
This role will be providing scientific leadership and overall coordination of the R21 project. They will bring deep subject-matter expertise and ensure continuity of the project’s conceptual framework, methodological approach, and scientific vision, co-lead refinement of the study design and analytic strategy across both aims. They will provide leadership in qualitative interview guide development, construct specification, and survey item generation. They will guide interpretation of findings, ensure integration of ethical and legal considerations into study procedures and analysis, and co-lead dissemination activities, including manuscript development and conference presentations. This role will also oversee advisory panel engagement and ensure that panel input is systematically incorporated into study deliverables. The level of effort reflects the substantive and ongoing leadership responsibilities necessary to support successful completion of this exploratory R21.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Research Scientist, IV: Requires a PhD in a scientific discipline and 8 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
Dual Degree Nursing PhD and JD and familiarity with this project scope and content area of decision-making in aged populations.
