Job Summary
The Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Clinician ( APC ). This role involves providing comprehensive outpatient clinical care, focusing on non-surgical management of pelvic floor disorders including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and bowel incontinence.

Minimum Qualifications
Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah.
Preferred
Certification in ACLS / BLS / NRP / ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria.
Utah State prescriptive privileges.
Licensure is obtained by completing a Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalency (the only equivalency to the Master’s degree is current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner) and a National Certification which requires the successful completion of a nationally accredited examination.
UHPPM 1-56 requires that newly hired non-physician providers apply for credentialing and privileging at the time of hire.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Provides outpatient clinical care at 2-3 University of Utah clinical sites, depending on need.
- See patients independently for non-surgical management of pelvic floor disorders, primarily urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.
- Manages behavioral, medication, and in-office procedural aspects of patient care.
- Provides pre- and post-operative care.
- Performs common clinic procedures including pessary fittings, urodynamics, and general women’s healthcare procedures like pap smear screenings and biopsies.
- Potential for training in more advanced procedures such as clinic-based neuromodulation procedures and cystoscopy.
- Reaches tentative diagnosis of medical, surgical and other conditions.
- Develops treatment plans in conjunction with attending physicians to provide optimal patient medical management.
- Orders consultations and interacts with members of other specialty medical teams including urology and colorectal surgery.
- Participates in the education of medical trainees, and attendance of relevant academic committees and conferences
- Participates in continuing medical education to include specialty and sub-specialty meetings, clubs, boards and conferences.
- Assists in the collection of data for research projects.
