What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Imaging Technologist (Mammography) position at University of Tennessee Medical Center?
Performs optimum, safe diagnostic and screening breast ultrasound exams accurately and proficiently, following departmetnal protocol. Responsible for Breast Ultrasound QA program and ensuring compliance to ACR Breast Ultrasound Accreditation.
1. Coordinate, review and prepare for daily ultrasound schedule.
2. Notify patients of benign results as instructed by radiologist.
3. Perform follow up calls to biopsy patients as needed and provide documentation on procedural progress note.
4. Assist with patient workflow for diagnostic evaluations.
Mammography Certification and experience in addition to Breast Sonography is preferred.
Requirements:
- Breast Ultrasound ARRT or ARDMS Required: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
- ARRT Mammography : American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and
- Mammography Certification preferred in addition to Ultrasound Certification
- BLS : Basic Life Support
- 1-2 years Breast Ultrasound experience preferred
- Has detailed knowledge of three dimensional spatial and cross-sectional anatomy and of common physiological and pathological processes.
