The Department of Mathematics in University of Tampa's College of Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Education invites applicants for a full-time, non-tenure-track, annually renewable position as Assistant Teaching Professor/Lecturer for the academic year 2026-27.
The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially-based private institution of more than 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa's dynamic central business district, which is a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area. UTampa reflects this vibrancy; with 30 consecutive years of enrollment growth UTampa boasts 260 student organizations, a multicultural student body from 50 states and more than 100 countries, and "Top Tier" ranking in U.S. News and World Report.
The Faculty and Administrators in CSSME, along with professional staff across the University, will provide meaningful support for your teaching and scholarship as elements of your personal and career development. We are searching for teacher-scholars who will serve as mentors for our diverse student body, and who have a demonstrated commitment to the academic success of all students.

Qualifications
Successful candidates will have at least a master's degree in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematics education, statistics, or other related fields. Candidates with a master's degree will be hired as Lecturer, while those holding the terminal degree will be hired as Assistant Teaching Professor. All candidates are expected to have a commitment to excellence in teaching, engaging students in learning beyond the classroom, and University service. The successful candidates must have demonstrated experience in teaching lower-level courses in Mathematics (Introductory Algebra, College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Finite Mathematics, and Calculus for Business). The teaching load is four, 4-credit courses per semester. Faculty may have the opportunity to teach in the summer for additional compensation.
