***This is a hybrid position and the candidate must have the ability to work from home and also be able to regularly participate in on-campus meetings, donor visits, team meetings, and in-office work as needed. Because of the in-person component, candidates should be based within reasonable driving distance of Vermillion or Sioux Falls.
The University of South Dakota Foundation & Alumni Association (USDFAA) is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven fundraiser to join our team as the Director of Development, College of Arts & Sciences.
This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in advancing the College of Arts & Sciences by connecting alumni, donors, and friends of USD to philanthropic opportunities that support students, faculty, programs, and strategic priorities across the college.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Development, Academic Units, this role will serve as the lead fundraising partner for the College of Arts & Sciences. The Director will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, develop strategic engagement plans, and secure philanthropic support that creates lasting impact for the University of South Dakota.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and grow a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors
- Develop and execute personalized strategies to secure philanthropic support
- Engage alumni, donors, and friends of USD through meaningful visits and interactions
- Partner with the dean, faculty, university leaders, and campus colleagues to align donor interests with college priorities
- Represent the USDFAA and the College of Arts & Sciences at university, alumni, donor, and community events
- Support alumni and constituent engagement opportunities that strengthen long-term relationships
- Help build a strong pipeline of future support for the College of Arts & Sciences and USD

- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through
- Experience in fundraising, development, sales, relationship management, or a related field

- Ability and willingness to travel regionally and nationally
