Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Typically holds a high school diploma or GED. Requires 1 or more years of job related experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
A valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma and 3 years landscaping experience. Prefer Master Gardener Certificate or equivalent, 3-5 years’ experience, horticulture vocational certificate, tech graduate and pesticide applicator license.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Negative pre-employment drug test. Good driving record, and successful background check are required. Ability to multi-task and exhibit initiative. Generally works 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. May have to work extended hours or weekend hours to support University activities. Exact work hours may be modified for seasonal patterns. Working knowledge of turf, shrubs, trees, landscaping, and horticultural chemicals and be able to operate equipment such as but not limited to items referenced in “All Equipment Needed to Perform Task” section of this position description.
