Responsibilities
- Holds 24-hour accountability for the operation of hospital pharmacy
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, coaches and mentors staff.
- Responsible for management of personnel, assists with hiring, evaluating, disciplining, grievances and training among the team as outlined by departmental organizational structure.
- Supervises and evaluates the performance of pharmacy operations, and in partnership with stakeholders.
- Assumes responsibility for Pharmacy when Pharmacy Director is not available.
- Provides training of personnel and ensures staff are competent to carry out their essential functions.
- Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks to leadership in a timely manner.
- Complies with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
- Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
- Related duties as assigned
Additional Information
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required. Master's degree preferred. and 3 years of experience 1 year of which was in leadership or management. Required
- Master's Degree Preferred
- RPH - Registered Pharmacist in the state of Alabama within 60 Days Required
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
