The University of Scranton Department of Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, & Sociology invites applications for a one-year, full-time appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning in August 2026.

Essential Duties
The successful applicant will be expected to teach courses in American Corrections, Community-Based Corrections, and Juvenile Delinquency and will have the opportunity to teach and develop additional courses within other areas of interest as aligned with programmatic needs determined by departmental faculty. The standard teaching load is 21 credits across fall and spring semesters.
Additional Skills Required
Minimum Education Requirements:
Applicants are required to have a master’s degree, in criminology, criminal justice or closely related field; ABD may apply; a terminal degree (Ph.D.) is preferred;. The J.D. is not considered a terminal degree for this position.

Previous teaching experience in an academic setting is preferred.
