The University of Scranton's Leahy College of Health Sciences seeks two tenure-track Assistant Professors to join its growing in-person undergraduate Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) program and new online Master of Science program in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP). The anticipated start date for this position is August 2026.
Candidates in all areas of expertise will be considered, with particular interest in individuals whose teaching and scholarly focus aligns with medical speech-language pathology, including voice, swallowing and dysphagia, motor speech disorders, and related areas. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to high-quality teaching across modalities, active scholarship, and evidence-based clinical practice.
The Master of Science (M.S.) education program in Speech-Language Pathology, delivered via distance education, is a Candidate for Accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

- Maintain an active program of scholarly activity consistent with tenure expectations
- Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
- Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation efforts
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service
- Other responsibilities as outlined in the faculty contract and handbook
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences & Disorders, Speech/Hearing Science, or a related discipline by August 2026
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) with supervision credentials
- Eligibility for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania licensure in Speech-Language Pathology
